All-terrain vehicles or ATVs are vehicles that used in the general sense in describing any small and open-motorized tricycles and buggies made for use off-road. They have the riders sit on them and operate them similarly to a motorcycle.

Kids' ATVs are made for children aging six to 12. They are built lighter and smaller compared to adult ATVs and have engine sizes with a range of 50 to about 200 cc. When buying kids' ATVs make sure to check for the following:
Maximum Speed: Choose ATVs for kids that come with maximum speeds of 15 to 20 mph. For efficiency in use, look for a beginner's ATV that comes with varying speed adjustments. This way, speeds can be increased gradually as better steering and handling are learned by the child.
Wheels: Look for wider wheels far optimum stability. For serious riding off-road, kids' ATVs that have pneumatic tires for better training. Also look for ATV wheels that are designed for all terrains but are not normally available in sizes for kids like specialty sand and mud tires.
